Question : Bonding two Intel Cards

Hello,

I am having two machines with Slackware installed on them, and 4 Intel 1000 NICs (2 on each machine).
The two machines are connected with each other by using the bonding module.
Could anyone tell me if I should expect 2Gbps when I am transfering from one machine to the other?
Or the two NIC are being used for load balancing with multiple destinations?
The cable that is being used is Cat 6

Answer : Bonding two Intel Cards

You should expect an increase in transfer speed, it won't reach 2Gbps though.

AFAIK the default mode for linux channel bonding is mode=0

"mode=0 (balance-rr)
Round-robin policy: Transmit packets in sequential order from the first available slave through the last. This mode provides load balancing and fault tolerance."
