Question : Cannot access netbios resources with dhcp configured station

We have a network composed of an NT server 4.0 sp5. A couples of unix servers. We decided to configures the laptops with dhcp and keep the desktops with fixed adresses.

Any station configured with dhcp seems to get the proper config but canot browse the network or map a drive to any server share or pc share.  However these station can connect to the unix servers via telnet.

I can add that: if we manualy define the WINS server in the TCP/IP configuration of the station (win 98) it works but i do not want that option i prefer full dhcp configuration.

Our NT domain name is : INFO

Here are the parameters configured for the scope:

003 Router --- 192.168.1.1
006 DNS --- 205.205.40.8
015 Domain name --- INFO
044 WINS/NBNS Servers 192.168.1.10
045 NetBios over tcp/ip NBDD 192.168.1.10
046 WINS/NBT Node type --- 0x8
047 NETBIOS Scope ID --- INFO

Our NT server which is a WINS also is a ip adress 192.168.1.10

What do i do wrong ? Anyone can Help ?

Answer : Cannot access netbios resources with dhcp configured station

MS doesn't support all options - this may help.

Does an IPCONFIG /ALL from a client list the correct WINS servers ?

Local configuration of WINS / DNS will always override DHCP settings, if that helps.
