Question : Setup.exe and autorun.inf in Shared Folder

Hi,
I work in a large corporation where there are about 500 pcs on our network.  We have been having trouble with our shared folders on the network.  Every shared folder will get Setup.exe and autorun.inf in it.  Our anti virus program finds it and removes it for us if we don't manually delete it ourselves but it comes right back.  How can we stop the maddness.

Thanks,
Phil

Answer : Setup.exe and autorun.inf in Shared Folder

Audit access to each shared folder on the file server.  An entry will then be created in the server's Security log whenever a file is written there.  Determine which computer is causing the problem and scan it thoroughly for malware.

These instructions are written for XP but will also work for 2000 or 2003:

It may be more convenient to specify the "Audit object access" setting at the OU level.
