Question : Setting up SpamAssassin to run on Netware with GroupWise GWIA 6.0
|
|
I have GroupWise 6.0 running on a Netware 6.0 server. I'd like to try setting up SpamAssassin to work with my GWIA, maybe via the /GWIA/THIRD directory. I'm not looking for a commercial product such as Guinevere, and I would rather not set up a separate email gateway unless that's the only way
Ideally I'd like to find a Netware-compatible implementation of SpamAssassin that I could run right on the Netware server. Or (if that's not possible for some reason) if I can run SpamAssassin on a separate Linux or Windows box which can access the GroupWise folders over the network. This is not a high volume mail server, so I'm not too worried about network performance.
I'm not a coder, but I can make minor tweaks if needed.

Ah. And upgrading is not an option, I take it?
OK, then go grab SUSE 9.3 professional, which ships with SpamAssassin included, and install that as a mail relay between the GWIA and the Internet. Point the MX record for the Domain(s) to the SUSE server and have it relay to GWIA. Configure GWIA to use the SUSE server as an outbound relay, or GWIA can continue to send out directly to the 'Net.
