Question : How to configure sendmail to outgoing only?
One of my Solaris 10 systems needs to send out mail notification and does not expect incoming mail. For this case, is sendmail service, svc:/network/smtp:sendmail
, has to be enabled and running? I have done some research on the net but found controversial answers. Maybe Solaris 10 is different. So could some experts clarify it and provide detailed steps to configure and test the solutions? Thanks!
Answer : How to configure sendmail to outgoing only?
yes, sendmail (or at least some mta) needs to be running to deliver mail, whether incoming or outgoing
