Why would there be a switch between the two? If you want the netgear serving as the router, then you shouldn't have anything else between the two.
In any event, it looks like this is a netgear wireless router (you don't mention the model and this is the first time you mention wireless). If you just want it to serve as a wireless access point:
- Turn DHCP ON on the Actiontec
- Turn DHCP OFF on the netgear
- Set the netgear to a fixed IP in the same subnet as the actiontec, but away from the autoassigned IP numbers.
- Connect the LAN side of the netgear to the switch (or actiontec)
- Configure the wireless security and such from a wired connection.
Essentially, you'll not use the Router functionality of the netgear. Instead it will work like a switch and wireless access point.
Good luck.
