Question : DHCP Option 66 Syntax Q:

Hey there, folks.  I've got an NT4/sp6 DHCP server.  I've also got a pile of Cisco 7960 VoIP phones.

The phones use the "Boot Server Host Name" (Option 66) to find the "call managers".  I want to specify more than one "Boot Server" so's the phones have some redundancy if the first call manager is down.

Anyone know of any methods for doing this?  The sucker seems to only let me enter one boot server..

Thanks!
Scott.

Answer : DHCP Option 66 Syntax Q:

The spec for that DHCP option does not allow more than one server or file name (67) to be passed.  To have more than one server passed would require the client to have the intelligence to decide which server to use.  It does not have that ability until after it has loaded it's boot file from the BOOTP server.
