Question : Cell Phone SIM or VOIP Alternative with USA Number in the UK

Hi All,
Im desperately looking for a solution in which I can have a US Number that will allow me to send and receive SMS and use it in the UK. I checked most of the US Cellular operators and none of them offer International Roaming on prepaid, I dont really care about the money I just need some sort of solution where by I can send and receive SMS messages on a US Number and calls too.

Have you looked into femtocells? I have never heard of them being used for this exact application but in theory you should be able to connect a femtocell from a US carrier into an internet connection and get service in a small area with a US number.

You would need to speak to a carrier about acquiring one. AT&T is really pushing hard to get them to market right now.
