Question : Where to find cached passwords for network drives in XP
|
|
I have a problem where visual studio does not automatically connect to the network drive where the sourcesafe database is located. My system used to do so, but ever since I was required to change my domain password I have to manually connect to the drive before VS will let me open the solution.
A co-worker showed me on his computer where he went to [Control Panel --> User Accounts --> Advanced] where he saw cached passwords for network drives and could remove them. However when I go to my user accounts I see a very simplified version of the user accoutn manager, with no advanced tab.
We are both running XP pro, he is on the domain here, I am not. Is there some other way I can get to this to delete the cached password?

You missed a step. It's Control Panel -> User Accounts. "Manage my network passwords" should show up in the left hand column at the top.
