Question : DNS Name Resolution Problem

Ok, this is a strange one.

My DNS servers are Windows Server 2008 Active Directory integrated.  There are approximately 12 of them in the environment.  Some of them are able to resolve to www.co.harris.tx.us, and some are not.  Any ideas?

This is the only public site that the dns servers having the problem cannot resolve to.  Every other public site is resolved fine.  They all have the same root hints.  I performed the name resolution test using nslookup.

Suggestions?

Answer : DNS Name Resolution Problem

I would check the cache of the servers that CANT resolve it.  Clear the cache. just to make sure there's no bad info..   Then do the nslookup, and check the cache again.  You should see the entry in there then..

Also, you say they're using the same root hints, but dont forget about forwarders..   Forwarders would take preference over the root hints, I believe...  Perhaps someone added a forwarder in one of them that's working, or added one to the ones which are NOT working..  Remember, the forwarder can be good, or bad!!

Are we talking about one domain?

FWIW, I dont seem to be able to resolve that address from here either.  You sure it's valid?
