Question : Benq Wireless AWL500 router cannot be accessed

Hi,
I currently have a laptop Benq joybook 8000 with NTL cable modem connected to Benq AWL500 wireless transmitter.
I cannot access the router admin area. I have set the IP to the default, 192.168.1.1.
I am assuming that if I enter the above IP then I will access the admin area of the router, but no joy. I have spent the weekend trying and am at the end of the road.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Scott

Answer : Benq Wireless AWL500 router cannot be accessed

The Default Gateway should be pointed to your router.  That Address looks like you are getting an address from the internet service provider.

Go to Control Panel, Network Connections, Right Click your NIC and select Properties, Click on TCP/IP and click properties and change the setting to below.

I would Manually set your IP Address on your computer to this.

IPADDRESS:  192.168.1.10
Sub Net  Mask:  255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1

DNS:  192.168.1.1

You should then be able to access the GUI Interface.  Ensure you enable DHCP on the Wireless Access Point.  After you enable DHCP set the IP Address back to DHCP and see if you get an address from the Access point. Your address should look something like 192.168.1.x
