Question : Google Maps display world and only continent names

I'm trying to make Google Maps display a world map without repeating, no equator or dash lines and only display the continent names in "Map" view.

The use of the API or URL would work. Essentially I would like the map to look like the following link with only the continent names:

http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&safe=on&ie=UTF8&ll=41.244772,9.140625&spn=142.071543,360&z=2

so like the following:

http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&safe=on&ie=UTF8&ll=28.921631,34.453125&spn=177.181574,360&z=1

but with a ability to zoom in and not see the country names.

I'm pretty certain you cannot change the style of a Google Map, other than switching the types.

You might look into Open Street Map, which does have style capabilities
