Question : Symantec Ghost 7.5, Windows XP, NO FLOPPY DRIVES
|
|
We are getting over 300 new laptops soon that will be running Windows XP Professional and do not have floppy drives. We have Symantec Ghost Corporate Edition 7.5.
In the manual, a floppy drive sounds like it is needed. I need to know how to do it without a floppy drive.
Any advice/experience would be appreciated.

The new version of norton ghost you are using works just fine with the virtual partition. No need to go out and purchase any other hardware. Using this function you can also multi cast I found that around 12 at a time is optimal. You might want to subnet them first, depending on your backbone you could swamp it. Please follow this link Situation: You want to use Ghost on a computer that is not based on the classic PC architecture. It runs Windows NT or Windows 2000, but it does not allow booting from a floppy disk drive. http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ghost.nsf/docid/1999042313104125?Open&src=&docid=2000033111503625&nsf=ghost.nsf&view=docid&dtype=&prod=&ver=&osv=&osv_lvl=
