Question : Daily Automatic Logoff
|
|
My firm recently installed Windows 2003 Server with a couple workstations attached to it. Everything went well in the set-up, but now they will disconnect from the network each evening. Somewhere between 4:30-5:30, the computers will not be able to connect to the network. If we reboot them, the problem goes away. This is not a serious problem, but more of a daily nuisance that would be great if it was resolved. I'm not sure if there is a setting that needs to be changed or what. Oh, the workstations are running Windows XP Professional.
Thanks.

Hi,
Do you have a back-up task or anything else running on the server?? My guess is the server is disconnecting all sessions to the server.. Are you using DHCP?? What happens if conecction breaks?? Do you still have an ip address on the XP machine?? Can you still ping the server??
Do you see anything strange within the event viewer..
