Question : Orphaned _ldap service records,  or not?

I have a domain that lost one of its domain controllers.  This server was also the mail server.  Recovery is for the most part complete but the system is no longer a domain controller and won't be promoted.  It is still our mail server.  Looking through the DNS records for the domain I have noticed several _ldap service records that reference this server under
_sites>Default-First-Site-Name>_tcp  for DomainDnsZones and ForestDnsZones .

The existing DCs also have _ldap service records at these locations.  Should the records referencing the old domain controller be deleted or are they somehow required because the server is an Exchange server?  My gut is they are just left over and should be deleted but discretion seems in order here.

Answer : Orphaned _ldap service records,  or not?
