One of our network expert advised our company that there is huge traffic in our router which will be risky to our existing WAN.
They suggest a long term solution that require add on equipments - Cisco Catalyst 3550 24 port (layer 3 switches) to reduce the workload of the router and can allow aggressive growth of PC. However, equipments cost is about HK$60,000.
Do anyone know something about Cisco Catalyst 3550 24 port? Is it a router? What's meant by layer 3 switches? Can we include more IP addresses or PC with the use of this equipment - Cisco Catalyst 3550 24 port? .....
