Question : Website fails to resolve
Hello experts!
Ok this is weird, There has been absolutly no changes on any of the servers, software or hardware before this started happening. The problem is I can't access one website, example: I type in "
www.google.com
" and get nothing page cannot be displayed after a min. I can however type the ip address of the "website" and it pops up fine. I try doing an nslookup using the FQDN and I get DNS request timed out. timeout was 2 seconds. If I nslookup the ip address the name pops up just fine and correct. This problem just started happening today and does the same thing on all the computers on the network. I hooked up a laptop to a dialup and the site loaded just fine. I have tryed the website on several different connections with no problems either. If I do a tracert using the cmd prompt I get unable to resolve the target system. If I log into the firewall and do a tracert I get Couldn't resolve host name but with the ip address the tracert works just fine on both. If I look in the dns log I can see a bunch of RCODE 2 (SERVFAIL) next to the domain name that won't work. Again if I type the ip address in the browser the website will pop up fine. This website worked fine yesterday and has always worked. Please help if you can and leave detailed intructions if possible.
Thanks!!
