Question : Access to LDAP service via internet
Our company email is hosted 3rd party. (Exchange 2003). We have 2 - MAC users that require the LDAP server information in order to have access to our Global Address List. The 3rd party company will not give me the LDAP server information due to security reasons... Is there not a way that they can setup access for me even tho I am coming across the internet? I am thinking something along the lines of Port forwarding on the LDAP service... Any thoughts?
Regards,
Answer : Access to LDAP service via internet
Without support of the hosting company, you have no options. I can understand why they will not do so, it isn't something I would allow either. It exposes the port to the internet which means it is open to authentication attacks.
