Question : windows dns

being a developer i run a test server out of my home.
win 2k3
question is on reverse ptr for mx record

do i create it myself (and is it recognized) or does my isp do that?

when i look up my domain on a site like infoblox I get warnings that
NS addresses do not have matching PTRs
and
MX addresses do not have matching PTRs

but do have PTR for IP as isp added that (actually when I spoke with them they said they have PTR for domain name but infoblox report say IP has it - just fyi)

thanks

Answer : windows dns

hi.

yes a PTR should be set to "mail.domain.com"

Example:
your MX has IP 213.146.115.115 and its FQDN(Full Quailfied Domain Name) is mail.domain.com
the PTR Record for 213.146.115.115 should be set to mail.domain.com

Regards
Chris
