Question : Netware Client loop
|
|
1. Microsoft Windows Small Bus server 2003 (domain controller) - This was working fine before the install. - Logged into domain. 2. Installed Client 4.91 from novell. Logged in as workstation Loads personal settings Loggin off Saving Settings Client Login again
I would like to figure out a way to uninstall the novell client but because of the loop I can't not get to add\remove programs. In safe mode I cant use the add\remove programs In safe mode with command prompt I run the add\remove .cpl file it does not recognize any installations. I want the novell client removed. HOW?

Answer : Netware Client loop

I had a similar problem with an XP workstation just recently. I used "workstation only" login (you should have a check box for it on the Novel login box), and logged in administrator. Then I went to the network properties, and removed the client. Rebooted, then re-installed the client and it's been working ever since. Be sure to do a "custom" install, so you can tell it to only use the IP protocol (unless you are still suing IPX, in which case install only IPX; it will leave the IP stack untouched)
If you need to force the issue about the "workstation only" login, unlug the network cable and try to login. After about 45-60 seconds, the login to NetWare will time out, and you will be asked if you want to log in workstation only.
Hope this helps.
