Question : Network issues please help
I have several devices on my network that use HTTPS for managment. I added these items to my local DNS server and now I can not manage them via their IP address unless I am on the DNS server. However, the starange thind is that I can manage them by their host name . This is really strange to me as the hostname mearly translates to the Ip address.
Example:
If I am on a desktop and browse to
https://10.10.10.1
(for example) I get: "Network Error (tcp_error) A communication error occurred: "Operation timed out" The Web Server may be down, too busy, or experiencing other problems preventing it from responding to requests. You may wish to try again at a later time. For assistance, contact your network support team. "
If I browse to
https://printer1
I easily get to the managment console. (Printer1 is the hostname for 10.10.10.1)
if I am on the DNS server and browse to:
https://10.10.10.1
I easily get to the managment console.
Any help would be fantastic as I am stuck...
Answer : Network issues please help
I discovered the problem. Our company made some changes to our Proxy.pac file and that was messing things up. Thanks for all the suggestions.
