Question : Disappearing Client for Microsoft Networks
|
|
Ok here is a strange one. we have Dell equipment in the company with Broadcom Nic's. We have seen issues where a user will come in logoon to the network and launch Outlook surf the internet everything looks good till they try to access a network resource. Such as File share or printer. If you open the properties of the network connection the Client for Microsoft Networks and the File and Printer sharing for Microsoft Networks are unchecked. The only way we have found to get them back is to uninstall the Network devices in Device manager and reboot. Then XP finds them and all is back to normal. Has anyone seen this and do you know what the problem is??
Thanks

It's contagious.
You have the one Hardware Profile on the home pc?
Have you installed the latest Broadcom drivers from Dell's website?
