Question : Can do an nslookup on a host but not ping it.
Hi guys we have a networking issue whereby you can do an nslookup on a host name, but you cannot ping by the same name.
This is causing, i believe issues with our hosts joining a domain, whereby we get "a domain controller could not be located.."
We can ping the domain controller by ip address but not by name, and manually putting in dns suffixes does not help either.
Any help greatly appreciated.

See that error quite a lot, it's quite annoying. Can you try stopping the DNS Client service then try pinging again?
Do you see the same behaviour from multiple client systems?
