Question : Nslookup query - strange name resolution

Hello all,

I have some troubles with resolution of name "online.netmonitor.cz". When I try to resolve it with windows 2003 server dns, it fails. Also NS lookup (windows, linux) fails.
I found two NS responsible for resolution:

ns.miton.cz
ns.mitoncz.com

Nslookup query:
> server ns.miton.cz
Default Server:  ns.miton.cz
Address:  88.86.120.83

> online.netmonitor.cz
Server:  ns.miton.cz
Address:  88.86.120.83

*** ns.miton.cz can't find online.netmonitor.cz: Non-existent domain
>

From some linux servers I am able to resolve query:
> server 10.2.1.80
Default Server:  [10.2.1.80]
Address:  10.2.1.80

> online.netmonitor.cz
Server:  [10.2.1.80]
Address:  10.2.1.80

Non-authoritative answer:
Name:    ola.netmonitorcz.gemius.pl
Address:  85.232.225.197
Aliases:  online.netmonitor.cz

Can somebody help me with this strange problem ? I think there is some bad configuration done on NSs.

Thanks,

Pavel

Answer : Nslookup query - strange name resolution

The name serves responsible for netmonitor.cz (i.e. ns.miton.cz and ns.mitoncz.com) both agree on the data:
They give a CNAME  ola.netmonitorcz.gemius.pl
The servers for gemius.pl (ns.bellona.pl and nss.bellona.pl) give an A record as desired.
Unfortunaely, the czech name servers (wrongly) the additional info that ola.netmonitorcz.gemius.pl does not exist

So I think the problem is with these two servers.
Infact they deny the existance of almost all domains and even a query for the root domain (which should return the well-known root servers) returns abnormal data.
