Question : Pocket PC and email

Please can anyone help.
We have a sbs server which is on a wired/wireless network and connected to the internet.
The server does not have a static IP address although it's current ip address is sent up to an internet service every few minutes.
Our pocket PCs email is downloaded automaticaly wih no problems by giving the server address in Activsync as our account with the internet service (company.no-ip.inf) and this translates the address to our current IP address and it works perfectly.
Our problem starts when we get to the office and (to save money) we log our pocket PCs onto the wireless network. Everything works fine except that we cannot download mail without changing the activsync server settings to our local server name/or ip.
I have tried putting this line into to the HOSTS file on the server:
192.168.0.2 company.no-ip.inf     (the ip address being the local ip address of our server)
but it does not work.
Any ideas please.
Thanks
Sam

Answer : Pocket PC and email

Hi

go to SBS Server

Open the DNS Server Management Console

Click on your Server.

Add a Forward lookup Zone.

Dont change any default Options, Press Next Next and give the name of zone as no-ip.inf

After than Right click on that zone and Add a 'A' Record.

A Record name will be company. and type your IP.

and Finish.

now if you will ping from your PC to company.no-ip.inf it will go 192.168.0.2

Thanks
