Question : DNS Question

I haven't got a clue about DNS.

I have a domain - katmaid.co.uk

I am trying to setup Free DNS as I have ADSL and my ip address changes frequently.

Basically daveamour.homeip.net always resolves to my home IP with a TTL of 5 minutes using DynDns.org

So with my Free DNS service (www.editdns.net) I am trying to create a record to say:

When a query arrives for www.katmaid.co.uk or katmaid.co.uk then resolve this to whatever daveamour.homeip.net resolves to.

Screenshot attached of the admin page for this.  I thought it may be a CNAME but I'm just guessing really.

Any idea?

Answer : DNS Question

CNAME is correct, and will work for www.katmaid.co.uk (IP/Host would be daveamour.homeip.net).

However, you won't be able to use a CNAME for katmaid.co.uk itself, usage is illegal, there's not really a way around that unless you host the entire domain with dynamic DNS (which I think can do this for you).
