Question : HOME NETWORKING IS INFURIATING! MSHOME is not accessible. . . .

I have recently introduced a new Win XPSP2 laptop into a Win XP home network.  I can ping desktop printer server from the laptop and another desktop in the home can print to the subject printer (HP desktjet 550).  The laptop WILL NOT install the printer!  Also, when I go to network places, the laptop will not see either of the other two computers on the home network.  My experience is in setting up domain computers and I cannot believe that adding a laptop to a home network is this troublesome!  By the way, I have not set this laptop up to join a domain -- during the initial wizard, I told Windows this laptop was for home use. . .  I have run the home network setup wizard and made certain file and printer sharing is enabled. .  .  PLEASE HELP!  Thanks.

verified all Firewalls are disabled from XP?

start>run>cmd

netsh firewall show opmode

Can even go as far as to reset them....

netsh firewall reset

Then just go back and manually make sure they are deleted...
