Question : routing with 2 NICs
|
|
Hi,
I've got a Wink server with 2 NICS (on is 192.168.0.55 and other is 192.168.0.56) 0.55 is plugged "LAN side", on a hub with 6 clients computers around. 0.56 is plugged on a DSL modem-router
From the server, when pinging www.yahoo.com or direct IP, i've something like "host unreachable"... Immediat message, without waiting. Of course, this is the same from client computers.
I can not ping the router 192.168.0.100.
Is there a way to make the server understand that when pinging the internet or the server, it has to ask to the 0.56 and not the 0.55 ? Is there a "routing" option, saying that client computers connected on the LAN side (0.55) will be redirected to 0.56 to go on the Web !!!
Thanks for answers, Hope I was clear enough to be understood.

No the client does not need to be on the same subnet. The IP used to connect to the network through the VPN is assigned by the VPN server. IF you have DHCP set up then the adddress is automatically assigned. If you have static addressing then addresses need to be assigned to the Remote Access server.
