Question : Dell 964 USB Multifunctional printer and Remote desktop

I read on another forum that it isn't possible to get a USB multifunctional printer working in remote desktop. Is this true or is there an easy or complicated workaround to get the Dell Photo All-In-One Printer 964 to print. I installed the drivers on the server and when my colleague connects to the server the printer is being installed correctly and the printer is connected to the TS001-port. All looks fine until you press the print-button because then nothing happens.

Does somebody have a solution?

Answer : Dell 964 USB Multifunctional printer and Remote desktop

USB printing is not "officially supported" but it usually works. The multi-function devices do seem to be the most problematic. You need to install the drivers on the server as you have done. The proper way to do this, though it shouldn't make a difference, is  on the "server", open printers and faxes, on the menu bar go to file, server properties, add, and point to the diver .inf file.

However, more likely the problem is the port type. On the server go to printers and faxes, on the menu bar go to file, server properties, ports. Look at the port type. If it is if it is not an Lpt, Com or USB port, which you described above, you may need to use the following Microsoft fix:
