Question : Cisco VPN
|
|
I am using the PDM client and I have set up a Pix 501 to accept a VPN tunnel from the Cisco 3.0 software. It works great! I can go home and get on and have access to the entire network.
Now When I try and login using PPTP it logs in okay but I can not see anything on the network?
Any ideas?

Sorry, but no, you can't set a route manually because to your PC, 192.168.1.x is local. Always. So even though your vpn client gets 192.168.2.x, your local machine will never see 192.168.1.x as remote to be encrypted through the vpn tunnel. My suggestion is to use dhcp at home, and set up an "alternate" IP address settings on the laptop. Take it to work and it won't find a DHCP server, so it automagically reverts to the alternate settings which just happen to match what you need at the office...
