Question : Access remote disk with Linksys VPN Router to Linksys VPN Router
|
|
My question seems so similar to others that I have searched on EE, but I still have the problem. I have two Linksys VPN routers with the latest firmware connected to the Internet via Comcast cable connections. We have successfully established a connection/tunnel that has maintained connectivity. My problem is accessing a drive.
Is the problem caused by the fact that the Site 1 machine is on a different subnet from the router?
I have tried the net use command to the remote IP and sharename without success: net use z:\\192.168.168.100\sharename to access Site 1
I have also established an identical username and password on the remote machine. Here are the network details:
Site 1: File Server: 192.168.168.100 Sharename of folder: Files Sonicwall: 192.168.168.168 (with rule to allow IPSEC passthrough as well as access from the IP range of remote machine 192.168.1.100 Linksys VPN Router: 192.168.5.1 Cable Modem WAN IP: 24.60.150.94
Site 2: Remote workstation: 192.168.1.100 Linksys Router: 192.168.1.1 Cable Modem WAN IP: 24.60.100.20
The VPN Configuration for Site 1 is:
Local Secure Subnet: 192.168.168.0 Local Mask:255.255.255.0 Remote Secure Group Subnet: 192.168.1.0 Remote Mask: 255.255.255.0 Remote Security Gateway IP: 24.60.100.20
The VPN Configuration for Site 2 is:
Local Secure Subnet: 192.168.1.0 Local Mask:255.255.255.0 Remote Secure Group Subnet: 192.168.168.168 Remote Mask: 255.255.255.0 Remote Security Gateway IP: 24.60.150.94
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Answer : Access remote disk with Linksys VPN Router to Linksys VPN Router

no, you must pass netbios on the tunnel to have sharing work, I am still going to check over the config, just to make sure I haven't been missing something.
