Question : How do I setup DNS so that it works internally for remote VPN users using RRAS to connect?

I have several remotes sites where myself & other users VPN to a RRAS server to gain network access.  Once we are connected, we have access to network resources such as email, printers, file servers, etc., but I've noticed that after making a VPN connection, DNS is not working correctly.  When I connect to the RRAS server from home or from one of our remote sites, I (we) cannot access servers using the server name.  I (we) have to know what the IP addresses are for each server/workstation in order to use Remote Desktop services or UNC paths.  Also, we cannot access our organizations website (www.romega.us) when we are connected to the RRAS server by VPN.  This site as well as several other known sites come back with an error message stating "Page Not Found" etc.  Once disconnect from the VPN, we can access (www.romega.us) and other sites with out any problems.  Why are these problems happening, and how can I fix them?

Keep in mind APIPA addresses can be negotiated with RRAS. If this is the case while the VPN is connected if you run ipconfig /all on the RRAS server you will see a matching APIPA address. Though this can work, it is a different subnet and routing often has to be configured if LAN routing is not enabled on the server. The better solution is to properly configure a static address pool or DHCP relay.
