Question : Boost power on WiFi card?

I have a Dell laptop with the Dell 1350 WiFi card which is a Broadcom chipset.  Is there some way to reconfigure the card to use a higher power level for the radio?  I have boosted the power on my router from 28mW to 70mW and now my laptop shows a "Very Good" signal but my router says my laptop is only at 13% strength.  The OS on my laptop is Vista Ultimate.

With any oem card, I so doubt it.  They want you to have maximum battery life and minimum fire risk.

verify that you have a user changable mini-pci card for wlan and buy a new one that supports 200mw.  If there is a cover you can remove and can remove the card and it has TWO antenna connectors on it, then you are good to go.  Source the SMC 200mw mini-pci card that wardrivers use.

The other point to consider is it is irrelevant what the AP thinks the signal strength is, as long as the connection is stable.  Setup a constant ping (ping -t 192.168.1.1 or whatever address) and double the distance to the AP.  IF the pings are stable (you may time out one or two ever 50 or so,) then you can bet the wlan doesn't need any tweaks.
