Question : DHCP error on sbs 2008

This is the second time this has happened, out of the blue I get this weird event id of 1056 cenerning dchp: The DHCP service has detected that it is running on a DC and has no credentials configured for use with Dynamic DNS registrations initiated by the DHCP service.   This is not a recommended security configuration.  Credentials for Dynamic DNS registrations may be configured using the command line "netsh dhcp server set dnscredentials" or via the DHCP Administrative tool. I check the dhcp admin console, and it is running fine. According to MS i should set the credentials for dhcp server service. I went to the dhcp console, and right click my server, clicked propertied, but there is no credentials tab. Once I click properties I automatically see advance, with two entries for database path, and backup path. What could have happened to the credentials tab? is this by design for sbs 2008?
Ever so often I get these weird network errors, then when I run the fix network wizard, nothing pans out. Someone mentioned disabling ipv6, but caused more headache than comfort, so I turned it back on.

Answer : DHCP error on sbs 2008

I dont think you have an issue here. This credentials would be used if you would have DHCP server to register clients at DNS, but since 2000 clients register themselfs at dns. This only would be used if you have non windows clients or very old windows clients. Anyway if you want to configure this credentials, you must do it at the DHCP console, but at IPv4 or IPv6 level, not at server level.
