Question : QoS on Riberbed

Site A has a Riverbed, Site B has a Riverbed.  Nightly a snapshop backup is sent from site A to site B.  The connection between the sites is a T1 - 1.544Mbps.  I want to limit the snapshop so it takes up no more than 80% of the bandwidth if other TCP streams are vying for that bandwidth.  How is this setup on the Riverbeds?

Answer : QoS on Riberbed

First you need to set up the QOS Classification.  Enable the QOS Classification then Enable QOS Classification on Primary and WAN throughput of 1.544kbps

Next, set up a QOS Class with a guaranteed bandwidth of 80%, Queue FIFO

Next, set up a QOS rule with the class name you crated above, source and destination IP for the snapshot, port numbers.  If you don't know some of the info, just leave it at all.  Also make sure you insert the rule at start to it is the first one.
