Question : 3com NBX 5000 Version 5_0_6 HELP! Call hangs up after dialing a number

We just upgraded our NBX to 5_0_6 and since then when we try to dial na outside line, the call hangs up. There are no errors and it doesn't try to grab a trunk, it just shuts off. It worked fine until we upgraded, and we had to run the 3com cordless phones. So my question is, what in the world could cause this to happen, there is no help anywhere online, and 3com already sent me a new digital line card and that didn't do anything, so it is not the card, and the PRI should be fine because it was working two weeks ago.

Frustrated.

Answer : 3com NBX 5000 Version 5_0_6 HELP! Call hangs up after dialing a number

First thing to try would be a dial plan test.  If you are NetSet (web administration) go to dial plan and select test.  Select a phone and enter the number as you would dial from the phone.  When you hit test it will return how the system would route the call through any pretranslators etc.  If it gets to a PRI channel and outpulses digits then it should be making it.

Other things that could potentially cause this>
PRI signalling problems.  Check for an ISDN cause code by selecting the PRI span and "status".  It will show you the last 5 calls.
Class of Service.  You should get a "not allowed" message on the phone if this is the case.

I would also recommend looking at your PRI config and verify that it is right.  Depending on the revision of digital line card you may or may not have an integrated CSU that you can check for physical errors on.
