Question : Netgear prompting password for facebook

I just purchased a Netgear wireless router with a built in DSL modem. It's working great, except for the fact that anytime I head out to facebook, I get a dialogue box prompting me for a password:

The server www.facebook.com at NETGEAR DG834G  requires a username and password.

Warning: This server is requesting that your username and password be sent in an insecure manner (basic authentication without a secure connection).

I've tried my facebook password and it's refused. I put in my Netgear admin password and I get the "Settings" page for the router.

I have no idea what's happening or how to fix it.

Thoughts?

Answer : Netgear prompting password for facebook

www.facebook.com is being resolved in DNS to your router's IP address, since it is the router which is answering your request for the site.

What do you see if you open a command prompt and type 'nslookup www.facebook.com'. Is the router's IP returned?
