Question : Resolve Server Name to IP Address in Windows XP

Hello,
I recently setup VLANs in my office with servers on one VLAN and workstations on a second VLAN. The problem I have now is that my workstations can no longer access the servers via the server name (i.e. MyServer01) and instead have to specify the IP address of the server. How can I configure Windows XP on the workstations to go to the IP address of the server when a user types in \\MyServer01? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Answer : Resolve Server Name to IP Address in Windows XP

You can add entries to each computer's "hosts" file, located at %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\etc which tells the computer what IP address the server name goes to.
