Question : What is G-Mode?

My DLINK wbr2310 modem has a Super G Mode option with 3 choices 'Super G without turbo', 'Super G with Dynamic Turbo' and 'Disabled'. What do they mean and what should I choose? I have a DSL internet connection.

ps: please don't post links to dlink website or modem manual as I have already checked those.

Answer : What is G-Mode?

Your wireless router adheres to the 802.11G standard. The G standard runs at 54 Mbs on the 2.4 Ghz frequency. The Super G mode and turbo modes etc. are ways to increase the speed/range of your wireless signal (not sure the specifics on the DLink). They are primarily marketing buzzwords than actual improvements, and if your running only one computer you will never notice a speed difference, as 54 Mbs is much faster than your DSL link anyway. you may see file transfers move faster if you are running multiple computers.
The routers documentation should have specifics about each mode.
