Question : Problem with SP3 and 802.1x networks
Hi guys, I have a problem with microsoft SP3 users not being able to authenticate to RADIUS servers after implementing cisco 802.1x on the edge switches. The RADIUS servers show that the backend authentication is fine however the client's notebook show "failed to authenticate to network" For both wired ad wireless connctions (WPA2-AES and WPA-TKIP).
I have tried numerious solutions from the microsoft knowledge base, including editing the XML file from the netsh. ensuring the wired/wireless autoconfig service is running etc. But still, after a reboot only SP3 clients are not able to authenticate. I have to manually restart the wired autoconfig service to get client back connected. I believe it is a windows issue more so than the network config part on the switches as other clients ie. SP2 and vista run fine.
Answer : Problem with SP3 and 802.1x networks
We found it was related to the NIC version/models rather than differing SP3 versions. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
