Question : Vertical Polarized VS Horizontal Polarized

Hi,

I would like to know what will be the pros and cons between Vertical Polarized Horizontal Polarized Antenna.

Regards

Answer : Vertical Polarized VS Horizontal Polarized

It is complicated but the key aspects to consider are:

the polarization of the signals you want to receive/transmit;
the direction in which signals are received and transmitted;
the amount of background electromagnetic interference;
practical considerations with mounting the antenna;

Ultimately in your case I dont think it will make a lot of difference because:

you will probably be communicating with a number of differently polarized devices e.g. pci wireless cards with antennas oriented both horizontaly and vertically;
the devices are presumably all in reasonably close proximity - most polarization considerations are designed to optimise much wider communications e.g. radio signals to moving vehicles;

So - long story short - bearing in mind the correct choice is all to do with circumstances such as the considerations above...

I suggest you use a vertical polarised antenna because:
I am assuming your users will be in all directions from the antenna
I am assuming that you are communicating directly with end users (e.g. wireless cards) and not a ditributed access point infrastructure (where you could directly control the polarization of antennas)
I am assuming there is minimal to average background interference

If you think there will be lots of interference you may wish to consider adding to the confusion and looking into elliptical polarization as it is less susceptible to cross talk ;-)

Hope this helps
