Question : The server has rejected your login

I use Windows Mail to receive email from gmail.com. I use IMAP. It worked in my laptop Vista but desktop Vista. The windows Mail in Desktop works when you open it. But after several minutes, a popup displays "Your IMAP server wishes to alter you to the following: web login required (Failure). If I click OK, the login screen popup. After I enter my username and password, I may or may not work. If it works, the problem repeats again. If the login doesn't work, I receive this message: The server has rejected your login.

I have tried these:
1. Disable Anti-virus.
2. Clean boot.
3. Delete and reset the account.
4. If you try IMAP without SSL, the error details are
Configuration:
Account: imap.gmail.com
Server: imap.gmail.com
User name: [email protected]
Protocol: IMAP
Port: 143
Secure(SSL): 0
Code: 800ccc0e
5. If I try IMAP with SSL, the error are:

Account: imap.gmail.com
Server: imap.gmail.com
User name: [email protected]
Protocol: IMAP

Any suggestions?

Answer : The server has rejected your login

Gmail does work with Windows Mail.  Check if you have a firewall or antivirus program interfering with incoming mail. Temporarily disable all firewalls and test.
