Question : Networking a SMALL business (desktop and laptop) efficiently?

Hello guys (and gals),

I run a small business with only one desktop in my office. I'll be adding a laptop for use around town and at home and I'd like to somehow get the two networked together so I'll have access to files and folders on each. Both computers will have XP Home as the operating system and the laptop will have a 802.11g wireless card and 802.11g wireless router at home (if this info matters).

I'd also like to somehow get my Outlook 2002 accessible on both computers (one of the main reasons I want to connect the two computers). I want to have complete access to all my Outlook folders no matter if I'm in the office on my desktop or at home with my laptop.

What is the easiest and cheapest way to connect my two computers?

Thanks in advance for any and all help...

You can also try software such as

pcAnywhere (http://www.symantec.com/pcanywhere/Consumer/index.html)

or

Timbuktu Pro (http://www.netopia.com/software/products/tb2/)

both of which cost ~$200 and will allow you to access your desktop as a virtual "window" on your laptop through any internet connection (i.e. once you connect, your desktop will literally appear, with full control, as an application window on your laptop).  Files can also be directly transferred between the host and client.

VNC (http://www.realvnc.com/) is a free alternate solution, which allows virtual access similar to either of the above programs, but does not allow direct file transfer.
