Question : Restoring Netware Data to Windows Server

I get this error when I'm trying to restore PST files that's been backed up from a Novell Netware server to a Windows 2003 server:

0xe000849e - A directory or file could not be restored because the content of its SMS data is in a "Sparse Format", and this format is not compatible with the file system on the restore target.
Final error category: Resource Errors

I'm currently running test scenarios because we'll be migrating off of Novell Netware onto Windows 2003 server.  Unfortunately, I'm running into this error when I try to restore data that's been backed up from a Novell Netware server.  Help would be great!

Hi,

Cross platform restore is not possible for any OS.Though the pst files are windows files they are stored on a netware file system and its more of a file system compatiblity which is causing the restore to fail. The only option would be to restore the files to the netware server and copy them from the netware volume using the netware copy available when you have the Novell Client agent installed.
