Question : Setting up Windows server 2k3 ftp server

I have installed the ftp server using IIS Manager. The FTP site is configured to allow anonymous connections on port 21. IP address - All unasigned.

It all looks great within my LAN(I mean the ftp works fine), but when I try to connect from outside it won't work. No connection, no logs no activity!

The ftp server is installed on Windows Server 2003. I'm behind Netgear router (Ports 20-21 forwarded). Windows Firewall/ICS servise - disabled. No other firewalls.

Just to add that ftp with 3rd party software (ServU) works(though not everytime).

What am I doing wrong?

(offtopic-if the post is not for here, please let me know!)

Answer : Setting up Windows server 2k3 ftp server

Leave the DMZ server on, that's what the dmz server is there for.  Use port forwarding with a dmz and all ftp traffic will flow through.
