Question : Windows cannot locate the server copy of your roaming profile

Workstation: XP Pro
Domain Controller: Windows 2000 Server

Lately, when one of my end users trys to log on from a Windows XP Pro workstation she gets the following message during loading process:

"Windows cannot locate the server copy of your roaming profile and is attempting to log you on with your local profile. Changes to the profile will not be copied to the server when you logoff. Possible causes of this error include network problems or insufficient security rights. If this problem persists, contact your network administrator."

The location where she's attempting to log in is several miles away from the building containing the Windows 2000 Server.  However, if she goes over to the building housing the Windows 2000 Server, she can log on to a Windows XP Pro workstation just fine.

Application event logs show Event ID: 1054, Source: Userenv.
Description: Windows cannot obtain the domain controller name for your computer network. [An unexpected network error occured] Group Policy processing aborted.

Answer : Windows cannot locate the server copy of your roaming profile

2000 server. You will need to do 2 logon and restart cycles to ensure it has applied it to the computer or I think you can type GPUPDATE on all the servers first and then the xp computer to refresh group policy.
Check the event log on the local computer after you log on as administrator. I'd expect you to get ID 1054 even when you are logging on as the administator.
