Question : Windows XP - "Connected" adapter, "No N/w functionality"

Setup:
-------
Laptop:                     DELL Inspiron 8600,
OS:                          Windows XP SP2
Wired N/w Adapter:   Broadcom 440 10/100 Integrated Controller   (PCI Bus 2, Device 0)
Wireless  Adapter:     Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG  (PCI Bus 2, Device 3)

Situation:
----------
Wired connection was working, and at the time Wireless device was disabled.  As soon as the Wireless device (Intel) was enabled it showed that it was connected to wireless n/w, but there wasn't any Incoming traffic.  Also, simultaneously the previously working Wired connection became non-functional.  In effect, both n/w connection shows 'Connected', but doesn't provide any n/wing functionality, including connecting to Internet.

Now when trying to Disable the Wireless connection (in a hope to restore to previous known working configuration), it gives following message:

"This connnection may be using one or more protocols that do not support Plug-and-Play, or it may have been initiated by another user or the system account."

Right now laptop is w/o n/w & Internet functionality.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
