Question : Lan to Lan VPN cannot see shares or browse

I have set up two routers, Vigor 2820vn 192.168.0.x and a Netgear DG834 192.168.5.x The VPN is up and running, I can ping 192.168.5.2 from 192.168.0.2 but I cannot see any shares \\192.168.5.2\temp just doesn't want to know.  Both machines are Vista Ultimate and UAC is switched off. The only firewalls are those in the routers.  I guess I have missed the obvious but I'm stuck on this one, any suggestions please?

Are the computers running any security software which might be blocking the traffic?
