Question : VOIP over single CAT5 cable ok? Or seperate drop recommended

Looking ahead to our future VOIP implementation.  I'm wondering just how 'ok' it is to roll it out with a single cable from the POE switch.  Cable goes into VOIP phone then another from phone to PC.  The last few implementations I've seen there have been seperate runs for data and voice.  Blue/Yellow.

Switches will be either 5412zl-96G-PoE+ or a WS-C4506E-S6L-96V+
Both are Layer 3 switches with QOS

I think the main reason you would have separate runs is if your data and telephony network were separated.

If they're together on the same LAN configuration, there shouldn't be any issues. After all, that is why they made the VoIP phone have the switching capability with one in and one out port.
