Question : My Laptop doe snot recognise my External Hard Drive

I have a laptop hardrive which is working and I want to use it as an external hard drive to recover data but my other laptop does not recognise it. I have gave it extra power as well ( connected it through usb to my xp sp 2 laptop). I do not know what to do,please help.

Insert your drive back to laptop. Then connect USB drive that works on both laptops.
Boot the laptop from CD and try to browse the problem drive. Why don't you want to try it?
Could you give me the reason of your unwillingness to check if the drive is detected itself at all?
